Buzz - Bulk Importing Enrollments

Modified on Thu, 26 Sep at 12:18 PM

Just like with users and courses, Buzz allows you to bulk import courses in 2 ways:

        1) Importing a CSV

        2) Manually pasting the CSV information within the platform.

A sample CSV file can be found at the end of this document.

Notes on Column Data:

  • ActionFor new users, this should always be listed as "Add." If you are modifying an existing user, you can change this to "Edit"

  • User ID: This is the automatically generated User ID in Buzz, found on the Users menu. You can also pull a report of all users (including their User ID) by going to Reports > Other > User Export

  • Status: Should always be active unless you are using this file to edit an existing user and wish them to be "Inactive".

  • Course ID: This is the automatically generated Course ID in Buzz, found on the Courses menu. You can also pull a report of all courses (including course ID) by going to Reports > Other > Course Export

  • Role: Enter the role of the user ("Teacher" or "Student")

  • Start Date/End Date: Start/End date of the enrollment. NOTE: depending on the program you use to look at the CSV file, the date columns may be auto-formatted differently. The correct format should be YYYY-MM-DD (ie 2024-08-30 = August 30th, 2024)

Option 1: Uploading a CSV

6. The final screen will confirm the details of the bulk import. Click Done

You should now see all your enrollments listed on the relevant courses.

Option 2: Manually Bulk Import Enrollments

1.  In the Import pop up click below the line that states Choose a tab-delimited or comma-separated file, or paste your import data here

2.  Enter the necessary information and then click Next in the bottom right

3. The details of the import and enrollments will be listed, as well as any potential errors. Once you have fixed the CSV for any flagged errors, click Import in the bottom right

You should now see all your enrollments listed on the relevant courses.
